IT IS AN APPEAL FRIDAY!
Senate President Saraki and Governor Wike Nyesom are two public figures that have been trending due to their court cases, amongst others, and the last working day of the week brought a twist to their drama.
In the case of Saraki who is being tried for corruption, the Appeal Court judges led by Judge Moore Agumanen ruled against him citing that the Code of Conduct Bureau was properly constituted, another twist to the case is the fact that, the court ruling is coming on the heels of Saraki led Senate confirming all Ministerial nominees, Rotimi Amaechi inclusive.
A more favourable verdict was delivered in Governor Wike Nyesom's case, the Appeal Court struck out part of APC’s petition against him in Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on Thursday. The three-man panel of Justices of the Appeal Court headed by Justice Datti Yahaya, struck out portions of the petition which alleged that security agents were used to rig the election in favour of Wike and the Peoples Democratic Party, on the grounds that the accused parties were not joined in the petition, so therefore, they do not have the opportunity to defend themselves
